Original endpapers browning, not cracked at joint; former owner's imprint near lower fore edge of ffep. Next leaf states this to be copy #139 of 250, the number handwritten in ink, followed by the signature of Yeats in same ink. Frontis portrait of Yeats at 21, tissue guard browning; other four illustrations present and vg w browning tissue guards. Text block very good; uncut fore edges browning slightly. 477 pages. boards : Common term for the covers of a hardbound book.

octavo : A book whose page size is approximately 12 inches by 9 inches. The size is based on a sheet of paper 25 inches by 38 inches, the size of paper traditionally used by book printers, which has been cut into eight pages.
