Book desription: Rocky Mountain News, 1983. On Christmas Eve 1982 Denver, Colorado was struck by one of the most vicious and unrelenting blizzards in its history and the heaviest snowfall in nearly 70 years. Thousands were stranded at the airport, on highways and streets, and in their homes. A state of emergency was declared and the Colorado Army National Guard was mobilized. This book documents the origin of the two massive storm systems that converged on Denver that Christmas Eve, and includes dozens of tales of fellowship and frustration. There are more than 80 b/w photographs. CONDITION: The front cover and the first two pages have a 3/4" tear at the bottom of the spine, and the rear cover and the pages at the back have a much smaller tear at the top of the spine. However, the binding remains strong and no pages are in danger of detaching. The cover and some pages have shelf-wear at the corners. The outer edge of the pages has yellowed somewhat. Finally, the cover is scuffed and has a small reddish stain on the spine.. Softcover. Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
