Macmillan, 1965 Nice clean copy with sunned spine, nicks on top edge of jacket.

Little Brown, 1917 Exceptional copy of a children's book from this period with some dust on top edge and what looks like a stray pencil mark on the foreedge of the text [not visible when pages opened].

Reilly & Lee, 1915 Two stories in one book with 16 full color illustrations by John Neill. Ads at back of book list through the Lost King of Oz, placing the publication of this book in the mid to late 1920s [copyright 1915]. Book is clean, bright and tight. The pastedown on the front cover has slight rippling on the bottom and there is shelf wear. An attractive copy with the wonderful illustrations from the man known for his Oz work.

London: George Routledge and Sons, 1886 Sharp copy bound in decorative olive green over dull orange cloth with illustration of two girls and an umbrella on front, flower pot on rear cover. Endpapers are a bright yellow and page edges stained a soft blue. Bookplate, nicks to the top and bottom edges of cover, else fine. First state of first edition.

London: George Routledge and Sons, 1889 Bound in dark blue paper over gray cloth with front illustration of two girls taking tea and back cover of three girls playing. End papers and page edges stained a bright orange-yellow. Traces of wear at tips, else fine.

Platt and Munk, 1928 Bound in green cloth with double gilt borders, pictorial paste down on cover, illustrated in color and black and white. Ownership page is filled and there is a book plate. Also, at one point two pages were stuck together in one spot, affecting three words of text and a small part of one black and white illustration. A well cared for book.

Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1967 Stated first printing with extra ink drawing of Arthur and inscription by the author on the front endpaper. Above Arthur is a balloon, "Hi Marcia I'm sort of filling in for Lyle...My name is Arthur and I have almost as much Fun!" Beneath the drawing, "Love/Your good friend,/Bernie Waber/and/Your other good friend/Lyle". Jacket spine is slightly darkened, and there is a 1/2" by 1" chip missing at the rear fold. An attractive copy with an endearing inscription.

Charles Scribner, 1954 Superb copy with the Scribner A. Jacket with a nick on back and a trace of rubbing at the lower spine tips.

New York: Macmillan, 1900 Second printing of the First American edition, printed in the same month as the first. Bound in tan woven cloth with orange titles and illustration of a girl in winter coat on front cover. Corners bumped, one page proud, 1/4" closed tear to one page margin, two leaves opened roughly [in manufacturing process the two leaves were joined together and when separated somewhat rough edges were created. A nice book with minor faults.

Holt, rinehart and Winston, 1964 Stated first edition, clean, bright and tight.

Samuel Gabriel Sons & Co., 1927 Bound in stiff wraps with image of monkey on horse, clown, and borders of clowns, balloons and circus animals. This coy has 12 full color and two black and white illustrations of circus performers. Cover has a faint corner crease, is rubbed/lightly soiled, and is starting to split at the fold. Internally very good.

Random House, 1971 Slipcase containing four books, each with a touch of rubbing on bottom tip of spine, Athlete with larger rub spot, Camper with foxing on front cover, slipcase with a nick and rub spot on one tip.All are stated First American Edition

Boston: D. Lothrop & Co., 1882 Oblong folio 12 !/4 by 9"book with bright lithograph covers, pages printed on one side.The title page and seven other full page lithos are present as is all the text. The text is in the form of poetry, explaining hte large bright illustrations. The text block is detached from the covers with the front end paper having a closed tear and the rear end paper chipped at the fore edge. Also offsetting from the lithographs to the facing pages. Boards show edge wear. Altogether, a decently preserved copy of a late 19th century children's book.

Platt and Munk, 1941 This is the story of two children's vacation on a farm. Jacket has a large tear, a tape repair, some chipping on edges and an ink inscription on the front flap.

Whitman, 1935 Book with three pop-up illustrations, 27 pages, on the adventure of a young Koala .Stiff pages have a few tears in the margins and one chip. The first illustration with a teat that should be easy to repair, the middle illustration has pulled loose from the staples but is in otherwise quite good condition.

Donahue Bound in green cloth with front cover showing an illustration of three Brownies on a fence, illustrated in red, black and white. Illustrated in black and white. Cover is rubbed, spotted, front hinge starting, else good.

Boston: Ticknor & Fields, 1861 Bound in blind stamped brick colored cloth with elaborate gilt spine titles and decorations depicting scenes from the story, 361 pp. Spine is very slightly faded and has chips at extremities, last endpaper with a crease, book largely unread.

This is a novelty children's book/toy that measures approximately 12 by 9". This book is basically a slab with two internal wheels that are moved by tabs on the edges and contains two stories, one on each side. On one side is Old Mother Hubbard and the other is the Tale of the Five Little Pigs. As you move the tabs the story and illustrations are pictured in cutouts in the middle of the book. There is no place, no date, with the only identifying marks being made in USA and Action With Your Nursery Rhymes. I believe this is published by Gardner of Lafayette, IN and is from the 1940s [it was purchased from an estate in a box lot and all the other children's books were from this time frame].

Rsndom House, 1958 Stated first edition in first edition, first state jacket. A good solid copy with inscription stating this was a birthday gift in February, 1959. Spine ends of book are bumped with related bumps, small closed tears to the jacket. Jacket also with some chipping on the top rear and minor wrinkles. A good, solid, copy that still presents itself well.

Mcloughin Bros., 1884 This is a 10 3/4" tall book with 16 pages, 8 internal lithographs and lithographed cover. Front cover with a large chip at the top spine, back cover with a crease on top. Both covers are rubbed with some soil. Internally the top margin with some soil, light foxing, not affecting text, last page with a corner chip also one t top margin. A good clean copy wiht bright lithos.
