Spiral bound blue boards, gilt lettering. 9 color plates on coated stock, 2pp. introduction by Reeves Lewenthal, 3pp brief bio with image of each of the 9 artists representated. Corners lightly rubbed, title page has a number of tiny holes probably from insects (plates not affected), text and plates have a very faint water stain in the lower right corner visible only in the margin, rendering them all suitable for framing. Artists representated are Thomas Hart Benton, James Chapin, Miguel Covarrubias, Adolf Dehn, Ernest Fiene, Robert Philipp, Paul Sample, William Schwartz and John Whorf.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Moderate edgewear and chipping to cover and spine, spine lettering partially faded, front hinge loose at bottom, scattered foxing mainly in margins of plates and very slight on reverse side of maps, age-darkening to some endpapers and some text pages, binding is tight, a 1 inch clean tear to margin of one folding map and a 5 inch clean tear from margin of the other map.other folding map. Covers detached but present, spine missing, text block and several pages, including front free endpaper loose but all present, foxing mainly to first and last few pages, contents mild toned but mostly clean, including illustrations, presentation by the publishers to Ralph Osborn Oct. 14.1889 on front free endpaper. Cover and contents are clean and unworn, contents are mildly age-toned. Portfolio is lightly soiled and is faded along perimeters, silk ties are faded and one has a small tear. There are numerous chromolithographs and in-text sepia-tone illustrations. Text and music is in sepia. Book is in very well-preserved condition. . Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. Blue cloth, gilt lettering to cover and spine and gilt Puss In Boots illustration on cover, black decoration. Wear to spine ends and corners, spine and portions of covers darkened, rear cover partly stained. Contents toned, endpapers foxed, some offsetting of chromolithographs to opposite blank pages, not affecting any text, pencilled inscription on front free endpaper. Full page chromolithographs by Kronheim & Co. of London are clean, unblemished, and very bright. The interior of this book is well preserved and the binding is sound.. Hard Cover. Riker, 1851. 276pp. Marroon leather covers with elaborate gilt floral decoration to covers and spine. 13 hand-colored plates (including title page), most with tissue-guards, all edges gilt. Covers heavily worn along edges, spine is chipped at top and bottom, front cover is very loose and split along edge, but gilt ornamentation has only light wear. Text is age-toned and foxed, plates are age-toned and mostly unfoxed, presentation and date (January 25, 1852) on front free endpaper, 4cm tear to frontispiece margin and a strip of the front pastedown torn off. The 13 hand-colored plates are very beautiful.. Full-Leather. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
