Generalogical research project dealing with the life and Father Joseph Biggio (1824-1866), a catholic priest who is considered the first direct immigrant from Italy to Rochester, New York. Biggio arrived in the Rochester area in 1849, was ordained by bthe Bishop of Timon of the Archdiocese of Buffalo and his first pastorate was St. Ambrose's (locally known as The Church of the Woods). In 1855, he moved to Bordentown, New Jersey to begin his second pastorage at St. Mary's Church. Biggio died in May, 1866.

Detached green narrow silk marker ribbon laid in. Two parts bound in one, 211 and 206 pp.Text in Latin. A tight copy, soem rubbing to the binding, more so at edges and tips. Contemporary "Ex Libris" notation and signature on title page. Turin-born Guiseppe Cerutti (1738-1792) was himself a Jesuit and became a professor at their college in Lyon. This work was a response to the widespread attacks on the order.
