Entries are arranged in a single alphabet and include material from the fifteenth century onward. Annotations accompany most items and often include biographical sketches of the authors. Also contains attractive and informative illustrations, such as portraits and printers' marks. Much information on important printers such as Caxton and Gutenberg. Still the most comprehensive bibliography on the subject. Very Good in used, edgeworn and torn dustwrapper.

A valuable bibliography for early Scottish imprints falling within the limits indicated in the title, chronologically arranged, and with detailed bibliographic descriptions and often extensive annotations on points of interest. Volume II is prefaced by: 'The Compiler of " Bibliographie Aberdonensis,' by John Malcolm Bulloch, and 'The Bibliography of Aberdeen - an Advance Review by William Keith Leask". Very Good.

Tables show the numbers and kinds of ornaments, new ornaments and total stock annually from 1705 to 1777 and the maximum length and frequency of use for each class of ornament.
