Description:
L. C. Page and Company, Boston. Octavo First Impression with August, 1911 on copyright page. Bound in the original tan ribbed cloth with color cover illustration in red and green. The book is beautiful, virtually perfect and as new except for a slight corner bump and a discreet ink inscription on the front end paper. The excellent condition is explained by the presence of the original dust wrapper. The wrapper is chipped and worn with pieces missing from the titling on the spine. Still a remarkable survivor and still clean and bright with the cover illustration intact.

Description:
London, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and New York: Walter Scott, (ca.1890). A square 12mo., 304 pp., bound in half-vellum over green cloth. Top edge gilt, leather spine label with gilt title and Art Nouveau ornaments in gilt on spine. One of The Canterbury Poets series, edited by William Sharp. These little books constitute one of the most attractive collections of poetry published during the Arts and Crafts period of design. More often than not these volumes are not signed by the binder but this one has the stamp of Bickers & Son, Leicester Square on the front free endpaper. The gilt spine ornaments of hearts, triangles and rules are also unusual for the series. Some moderate soiling and wear, nevertheless remaining an attractive copy.
