Tashkent: Electr.-steam typo-lithography of Turkestani military district HQ, 1909. [2], IV, 1815, [4] pp. Contemporary half-leather. Small piece of the title page is missing from the top (restored). Otherwise near fine copy. First and the only edition. The first attempt to create the universal dictionary for Turkic people of Russian Empire. Even though Arabic studies were quite developed in Europe, in Russia I.Yagello was among the pioneers of Middle East studies, and his dictionary preceded and inspired great Russian linguist Harlampij K. Baranov (1892 - 1980) to create his absolutely brilliant Arabic - Russian dictionary. I.Yagello developed effective system of root alphabetic order, which is implemented in contemporary comparative dictionaries. Pg. Baku: Izdanie gazety Vyshka, 1928. 32 pp.: ill. 21,5x15 cm. From the series "Cheap worker's library of Vyshka newspaper" (#3). In original illustrated wrappers. Tears of the wrappers and spine, damp stain on the front cover, back cover separated from the text block. Otherwise good. Rare provincial edition. One of the first editions about famous incident. The book is dedicated to the Umberto Nobile's dirigible expedition in 1928, its crash and rescue by Krasin and Malygin ice breakers. Soviet writer Boris Yampolsky (1912-1972) used materials from newspapers and magazines to compile events of the story.

Moscow: Novaia Moskva, 1924. 63 pp.: ill., 1 portrait. 18x14 cm. In original illustrated wrappers. Small tears of spine, otherwise mint. First edition. One of 8000 copies. Record of a speech revolutionary Yemelyan Yaroslavsky (1878-1943) gave soon after Lenin's death, on January 29, 1924. The cover design features a photomontage installed into the title - ''Lenin''. The word consists of heavy block letters and is tightly connected with Communist hammer and sickle. Two letters E and I are covered with a picture of a crowd. According to Khrushchev's memoirs, the Communist party called Yaroslavsky a "Soviet priest", as in the 1920-1930s he was the foremost anti-religious propagandist and was the main initiator of the anti-religious policy of the Soviet leadership. He performed this function for nearly two decades, until the German invasion of the USSR when Stalin turned to the Russian Orthodox church for help in the war effort. Moscow: Kryazhev and May, 1806. [4], 362, [13] p., 1 frontispiece. 17,7x11,4 cm. Contemporary full leather. Title of the book gilt on the spine. Tiny hole in the title page, some stains but overall very good condition. Owner's inscription 'Shilovoy Tatiany' on the endpapers done in the first quarter of XIX century. Early Russian translation of English classical poet Edward Young done by Mikhail Parenago (1780-1832) the author of English grammar (1828) and Russian-English dictionary (1808-1817). Young was translated to Russian in XVIII century but this is one of the first translations that was done from English, not from French. Parenago used 'Beauties of Edward Young' (1802) - anthology by G.Evans. He also puts the quote from Evans on the title page as an epigraph. Only one copy in Germany according to WorldCat.
