Hail to Maurice Girodias, implacable opponent of censorship, who establish Olympia Press 'to see how far I could go, single-handed, in a deliberate attempt to destroy censorship as a moral institution, as a tradition, as a method of government.' And good riddance! We are still fighting this battle. Girodias published many books not acceptable at the time to the English and American Moral Minority, among them Lolita, issued in 1955 when no other publisher would touch it, and The Story of O. The book is a little degraded, spotty on edges, etc, but is generally fairly good. Dj somewhat marked, especially at back, but is quite useful. more information
