A well-illustrated guide to the principal botanic gardens of the world, from Padua to Buenos Aires and Japan by way of Kew, Goteborg, Tashkent, Bogor and many others. Inexplicably omitting the Botanic Garden of the Komarov Institute in St. Petersburg, no doubt due to travel difficulties at the time (though the authors managed to get to Minsk), the authors select only seven U.S. gardens one of which, Longwood, is a much more horticulturally inclined arboretum than (say) the Morris Arboretum in the same State.
