Laid in is a printed portfolio (that matches the end papers of the book) with six 11-inch-square offset color prints. The book is a visual autobiography, starting with Nettle's girlhood through her daughter's first year. The images were produced using Kwik Print on vinyl. The laborious process involved coating light sensitive color onto a vinyl base, contact printing large negatives and then washing away the unexposed color with water.
