"Madison (Alexander) Cooper, Jr. (1894-1956). was a novelist and philanthropist, born in Waco, Texas. He began writing short stories in the 1920s and in the early 1930s, he took three correspondence courses in creative writing from Columbia University. This was his first full-length novel and he'd worked on it for eleven years. Moody (1900 - 1993), was a "journalist and author who spent most of her working life in Atlanta," according to the Emory University General Libraries Special Collections website. "She was a columnist with the Atlanta Journal (1938-1943) and was the author of several novels, including <B><I>Long Meadows</B></I> published in 1941, and many short stories and poems which appeared in [various] magazines and newspapers.
