Mornings in Florence
New York: F. M. Lupton Publishing Company. 234 pp. with b&w frontispiece of author. Undated, but printed between 1892-1902. This is part travelogue, part art history, part art criticism. Ruskin gives us the stories behind some of the artwork by Giotto, and mixes in a dash of his own philosophical musings. No dj (was issued with wrappers). This 'Daisy Edition' of 'Mornings in Florence' was part of an 82 volume set issued by Lupton, printed on laid paper, with a stamped open scrollwork design and daisies on the front board and spine done in silver gilt and green. Boards are light green. Spine darkened. Light soil, spotting to boards. Owners' names in ink on ffep. Paper of front hinge starting to split, but still sound.. Decorative Cloth.
