Unpublished manuscript material. A typed letter on Wolcott Gibbs Memorial Laboratory, Harvard University stationery, with Theodore William Richards listed as the director, dated November 13, 1918, addressed to Prof. Alan W.C. Menzies at Princeton University, one page signed "T. W. Richards." An important letter with significant scientific content, addressing the effect of a shape of a tube on the capillary constant. Dr. Richards asks Dr. Menzies to allude to the work done by one of his assistants, Emmett K. Carver if Menzies decides to publish the results of his experimentation. This letter has an ink addition to the second paragraph by Dr. Richards and a lengthy autograph footnote giving the exact citation to Dr. Emmett M. Carver's thesis on surface tension in the Harvard library. Dr. Richards won the 1914 Nobel Prize for Chemistry. Condition fine. more information
