From the introduction: The New York Capital District Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America agreed to embroider panels for new drapes to be hung in the executive chamber of the New York State Capitol building. It began as a 10 month project and evolved into a four year charge. The actual stitching of 10, 20" x 50" gold work panels was finished in six months. Betsy Ellsworth served as Chapter liaison with the coordinator and architects of the project. It developed into a full time job for Betsy in the months before the stitching began. This booklet was compiled as a tribute to Betsy who lost a battle with cancer in late 1991. It was offered to those interested in historic restoration in hope that it will inspire others to dedicate themselves to similar projects. more information
