THE WIZ
Studio Duplicating Service, New York: September, 1975 The final draft (so stated) of the blocking script for the smash hit musical "The Wiz" adapted from L. Frank Baum's THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ. This was the personal copy of the producer Kenneth Harper. The original cast list, scenes and musical numbers precede the script which collates at 47 pages in Act I and 38 pages in Act II, printed on the recto only. Bound in a lettered red binder. Very good condition. This text does not reflect the changes William F. Brown made to the text in his updating of the African American vernacular. THE WIZ made Broadway history as a production which featured African American actors, singers, and dancers exclusively. more information

PORTRAIT OF THE ACTRESS AND DIRECTOR, EVA LE GALLIENNE
Printed by the photographer, Philadelphia:[n.d.] A vintage, original silver gelatin print, 24.2cm x 18.2cm, bust portrait, full-face frontal, of the famed actress as a young woman, ca. 1930, signed in pencil in the lower right-hand corner by the photographer as "R.T. Dooner," and signed and inscribed boldly by the actress in ink, "To the '2nd Twin' - with love from 'Peter' E[va] Le Gallienne." This inscription may be a reference to Ibsen's THE MASTER BUILDER, which Le Gallienne translated; or, the PETER PAN revival of 1928. Mounted by the photographer on a slightly larger unused piece of photographic print paper along the top edge only. On the back of the portrait is the photographer's restriction on use, "Not to be published unless credit is given Richard T. Dooner Philadelphia." A fine vintage image of a legendary stage actress and director, with slight solarization on the lower part of the photograph. Dooner (1874-1954) was known for his thoughtful and meticulous portraits. more information
