Hardcover, was issued without a dustjacket, beautiful beige textured cloth binding with gold spine-title on a burgundy background, top edge is bright gilt, this is number 489 in the Memorial Edition which was limited to 1,000 copies, pretty much a perfect copy, has two minor flaws: the color frontis illustration has a small surface-abrasion, and the burgundy background on the spine has a few small areas where the color has faded a bit, 323 pages including index, with six illustrations and the original protective tissue-guards, an interesting look at the different regions, industries, the army, palaces, court life, bazaars, etc..
