Reel Time : Fishy Tales from a Serious Angler
Croydon South, Victoria Australia: Australian Fishing Network, 2004 Very clean near fine first edition glossy and bright. 88 pages illustrated with black and white photos and cartoon drawings. This is an interesting little book for fisherman by a keen fisherman who shares his adventures and experiences of all types of fishing and at the same time passes on useful hints and snippets of information that have helped his fishing be more fruitful. This book is an absolute Aussie gem in so many ways. First of all the book is written in a uniquely Australian way. Jamin's style is just of a superbly country lad, and is totally absorbing right from the start. It is as close as you will get to going fishing with friends without actually going. There is no trying to impress anyone with extra words or style; it is simply an honest recollection of the fun that Jamin and his mates have had since starting to fish together 20 odd years ago. This is what makes the book one of the best I have read in a decade, and I even believe that non-anglers will get a big kick out of it. Jamin fishes from his home turf at Wagga Wagga, up to the Tumut Valley, down to the South Coast and further afield. Along the way there is Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Murray crays, marlin, the hay days of Yellowfin Tuna and others. Jamin's descriptions of the way he fishes will teach you plenty, but I cannot help but reiterate what fun it was to read. Some of the characters Jamin describes had me bursting at the seams and I feel like I ended up knowing them by the end of the book. A great gift to give to any fisherman, humerous and fun to read while learning something possibly new.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Fine/No Jacket. Illus. by Chris Petrie. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. more information
