Fall of the Year, The - SIGNED
Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Co., 1999 "The rugged and mysterious mountains of Kingdom County are the setting for Hank Mosher's brillian new autobiographical novel... 'The Fall of the Year' celebrates the fiercely independent people of Kingdom County." "Imagine what would happen if Grandma Moses and William Faulkner got together and created a town." Book is in never-read condition; binding is tight and firm. Unfortunately, it appears that there was a printers/bindery error on this copy - the endpaper and the flyleaf, along with the next page, show a sort of wrinkling/crimping/waviness. I'd almost say "water damage", but it's not even that wavy! SIGNED by the author on the title page. Inventory #MOS-399.. Signed by Author. First. Hard Cover. Excellent/Very Good. more information

New York, New York, U.S.A.: Ballantine, 1998 First Ballantine Books edition, May 1998. "Hours away from execution by the state of Oklahoma, Marjorie Standiford is dictating her memoirs... Marjorie, whose robbery spree with her husband, Lamont, and her lover, Natalie, splattered a trail of blood across the Southwest, steadfastly maintains that she didn't kill anybody. Now to assure her young son's future, the woman called the Speed Queen - for both her drug and driving style - is fulfilling her deal with the big-time writer who has paid handsomely for her story. It's worth every penny. Liberally jazzed with humor, both gallows and otherwise, Marjorie's account combines the manic rush of "Natural Born Killers" with the dreamy lyricism of "Badlands"... An unflinching take on the land of fast food and fast cars, where everyone id juiced to the max - and no one is really going anywhere. - People" "A 'People' Page-Turner of the Week". This book is in nearly-new condition, appearing unread. There are no creases; a tiny amount of shelfwear along the bottom edges. No markings, store stamps, or dogeared pages found. SIGNED in blue ink on the title page BY THE AUTHOR, name only. Inventory #ONA-505.. Signed by Author. First Paperback. Trade Paperback. As New/No Jacket. more information

Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, The

New York, NY: Bantam, 1977 17th printing. Binding tight and firm. Paper age-tanned. Cover shows numerous creases and dings. The ONLY reason we're putting this up for sale is that it appears to have a "famous person's" inscription inside. Inscribed on the first page is "Ellen - to trip is just to fall. Best Always, Ken Kesey" The word "fall" is written in stair-step style, with a downward-pointing arrow. I have no idea if this is, indeed, Kesey's signature. If you are interested, I would be happy to email you a photo of the page in question. PLEASE NOTE: The book we have is NOT the cover shown in the illustration chosen here by ABE. Inventory #WOL-002. Mass Market Paperback. Poor/No Jacket. more information
