1) Das Album. Bilder aus dem Leben. Photographien von Ogerau, Reutlinger, Stebbing in Paris

Leipzig,: Verlag Von F. Kruger,. 1898. Hard Cover. Nos. 1-10, 160p., ca. 600 illus., original publishers pictorial cloth, approximately 10 x 14. v.g. Nice copy of the first ten issues of this early girlie magazine. The photographs, mainly of French ladies, exploit their physical charms in various forms of dress and undress. There is no nudity but many illustrate ladies getting undressed for bed or some other event. Lots of legs, stockings, corsets and crinolines. Very useful for seeing what ladies wore underneath their outer wear. There is a nice series on riding bicycles in pantaloons and another series is on early bathing suits; all these being specially posed studio photos. Most of the women are identified and include Anna Held, Marcelle Dulac, Lucie Berthet, Mille de Gaby, and a special issue devoted to Lona Barrison. A delightful example of later 19th century mild erotica. . more information
