This is a children's chapter book involving pirates, small mysteries, and other child fantasies. The binding is red cloth, with several specks of paint (tan) on the front and small lighter spots where the paint was likely removed. On the back there are a few small speckles, a small spot and a thin line of the same paint. Lettering in black, the corners and both ends of the spine are worn. 197 pages, there are spots on the first few pages, and a small side tear on page 106. The binding is tight; a gift inscription is written on the ffep, with a shadow over the writing that was probably a book plate. It includes both stories, and is well-illustrated in black & white. There is no date, but it is an early printing, probably around the 1920s. The binding is blue, with a leather look; the printing is in black. There is wear at the corners and both spine ends, a bit of wear along the spine edge, and wear along the bottom edges. An 'x' was made on the page tops with a dark marker, 2 thin lines about 1" each (NOT remainder marks). The jacket is yellow with Alice and the White Rabbit appearing on the front. The corners are worn away, as are the spine ends. There is some water damage to the top and side near the spine, and 1/2" to 1" is missing from the spine top. There are also water marks on the spine and upper back of the jacket. A triangular piece is missing from the back, a continuation of the area missing on the spine top. The jacket is in a protective cover. 252 pages, illustrations on every to every other page. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. more information

Tom McGowen is a master of fantasy and suspense writing - let his novel sweep you away! 104 pages, the book is covered in dark blue cloth with black lettering. The corners have light to moderate wear, and the spine ends have moderate wear also. The jacket front has two 1 1/4" tears, top and bottom. There are three small holes near the top is missing a small piece and has a 1/2" tear at the gutter. The spine bottom is missing a 1" piece that is 1 1/2" wide. The back top is missing horizontally, from 1/4" to 1 1/2". The book is signed by the author on the title page, and the jacket is in a protective cover. Only the island on which their wrecked ship was cast wasn't a desert island! It contained all manner of flora and fauna on which the resourceful father, mother, and four boys learned to subsist. The book has decorated cloth covers which have wear at the corners and light wear at the spine ends. The endpapers are illustrated and fine. The page tops are red, and look as though a liquid has lightened portions, although there is no evidence of any liquid on the pages. The jacket is in a protective cover and has small pieces missing on the spine, front, and back. The back is lightened in several places.
