Vancouver: Evergreen Press, 1973 This is the story of the selection of the Kicking Horse Pass for the Trans Canada Railway rather than the Yellowhead Pass. Moberley, the surveyor, convinced the planners to accept the Kicking Horse Route as it was 100 miles shorter than the Yellowhead Pass preferred by Sandford Fleming. The book outlines the results of this "blunder" in the avalanches, derailments, loss of life, etc. Most interesting history.
