New York: W. W. Norton, 1944. The Pacific after World War II. 218 pp. With an introduction for American servicemen stationed in the Pacific by William Beebe. This copy is inscribed with a 1948 date to a past president of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. The gift inscription is signed by Lt. Gen. Robert C. Richardson, Jr. who was the commanding general of army forces in the Central Pacific (MIDPAC). Book is tight with light corner/spine end bumping and edgewear. Interior is clean with age yellowing pages. Dust jacket has price stamped on lower portion of front flap. It is missing chips along top and bottom edges and spine extremes. There is creasing and some tearing. Lower spine area has damp stain which does not impact book. Front of dust jacket has two faint "coaster rings". Now in protective cover. Laid in the book is an order form for Bailey Willis' "Friendly China" published by Stanford University Press. Interesting little book with great historical provenance.. Early Reprint. Hard Cover.
