Slightly rubbed at outer corner edges, small half inch thin brownish mark at bottom edge of pages 66 and 67. Some foxing on fore-edge and bottom edge, front free endpapers, and one or two spots of foxing on a few of the pages, otherwise pages are very clean and bright. Some of the pages are rough-cut at the bottom edge. A very good tight copy. xxiv, 238pp. With 30 illustrations. The author has gathered together information about the work of nearly a hundred modern presses and in most cases he is able to state the motives which led to the foundation of the various presses. The presses mentioned are from the 1870s. Presses included are: The Ricardi, Vale, Ashendene, Cuala, Daniel, Essex House, Kelmscott, etc. A very good reference book.
