"A gentle January breeze drifted in from the Halifax River and murmured along the hundred yards or so of porch on the south side of the Ormond Hotel. The porch formed a sort of promonade for guests of the sprawling frame, Victorian resort. A few strolled up and down the cyprus-planked veranda, but most sat in cane-bottomed rocking chairs, their attention focused on a newly-completed garage just up Granada Avenue toward the ocean. " Included is a foreword by Bill France, Sr the founder of NASCAR and with a salute by Bill Mitchell a former vice president of design at General Motors. . more information
