Accokeek, MD, U.S.A.: Stoeger Publishing Company, 1994. Very clean...no marks and no writing. there is one small spine crease and the edges show slight signs of wear. There is a dent in the front cover and a chip on the front cover at the spine. Very nice shape...The book is well ellustrated and, although the prices are now out of date, it is hard to find price guides and, therefore, it does at least give you a basis of comparison. Canada: Maclean Hunter Publishing Company Limited, 1967. This book was the official bilingual guide to the World Exposition held in 1967 in Montreal (my home town). It is loaded with sketches and photos of most pavilions, maps, and other information about the World's Fair. Since it was Canada's centennial, there is also a section on other regions of the country. The previous owner's name and phone number is in ink on front cover so it looks a bit messy but otherwise the book is in tight, nice and clean condition.. First Edition. Trade Paperback. Schiffer Pub, 1984. This book is oblong (6"high). It is covered with a peel and stick plastic coating that has protected the book quite nicely from wear and tear although it is slightly crreamy colored from age now. No writing or highlighting in the book. It is 207 pp with b&w and color illustrations. Light rubbing, scuffing, and edgewear. Otherwise tight, clean, unmarked interior. Although the actual values given in the guide are no longer valid, they will certainly give you a rough idea of the value of your collection.. Torrance, CA, U.S.A.: Fielding Worldwide, Incorporated, 1995. This book has been well read but there are no spine creases and no writing inside the book. The edges are lightly soiled and the corners are showing wear but it is nice and tight and in very good shape. It is listed as a travel guide but it is a guide like none that you see habitually. This book gives you an overall background of a country, tells you how to get into the country, tells you the ways and means of getting around by yourself, points out things like shortages (gas, food, medical supplies, etc.) Tells you the dangerous places and what to expect if you get sick vis a vis doctors, medicines and hospitals. He also has chapters on dangerous things....(Diseases, terrorists, kidnapping, bribes, etc.) and dangerous jobs.....( CIA, taxi driver, smokejumper, Mine sweeper, bounty hunter, cop, etc....). All in all an extremely interesting book. An excellent read even if you do not intend to go anywhere. Please note that the book is approx. 3 lbs. so it will cost more postage.
