Few great collections of Dutch painting have been so sharply focused: there are landscaptes and seascapes, town views, still lifes, and church interiorts by nearly all the major masters, and that is all. No portraits, no genre, no history paintings are included in this collection, which is not a survey of Dutch art and was never meant to be.
