New York, NY: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1881. Originally published in 1867, this is a later edition. 4.75" x 7" 187 pp. A PO's name and date of '82 are on the ffep. The front hinge has just started to crack, between printer's blanks. Otherwise, the binding is in excellent shape, extremely tight. The page edges have some dust soiling. The brown boards w/gilt & black lettering have a little edgewear, mildly bumped corners, a slightly cocked spine and a little faint soiling, but overall it appears in very good condition for a 120 year old book. . New York, NY: Harper & Brothers, Publishers, 1896. Same date. 4.75" x 7" 458 pp. w/uncut fore & lower edges. Ffep has a PO's name, a few soil marks, and an old partially scuffed off price note. The blue boards with gilt lettering and silver accents have just a little edgewear and rubbing. The upper page edge is dust soiled, and the uncut edges are a little worn, especially the lower corner which has chips to a few pages. Page 133 has a half inch chip near the upper corner. The spine is cocked and both hinges have started, otherwise the binding is in great shape, and the interior unmarked.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. more information
