London : Albion Press, ca. 1807. Second printing. 8vo. Full leather binding. 579 pp. plus six pages of advertisements at the rear of the volume. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece and title page each of which has been hand colored. Binding is a fully sewn medium brown calf with five raised bands, tooled into six double gilt ruled compartments one of which contains an onlayed red morroco spine label with titles gilt, small elaborate gilt stamped device of a racing horse with rider about to apply the crop vigorously. Endpapers very lightly toned, else very good plus. Overall quite a nice copy of this scarce work by the noted sporting author Pierce Egan. (more information)
