Tissue protected vignette style frontis of the author with one other illustration, a tissue-protected engaving of the Immaculate Conception done by W. Ridgway facing the first page of actual text. Minor wear to the boards with wear on the corners and the spine crown/heel. The front hinge shows a gutter tear of the end papers.
