Cole Jr. in the summer preceding his senior year at West Point, and it is a complete guide to how the U.S. infantry operated at the time, from the manual of arms, to exercise routines, marching formations, basic military tactics, and much more. Calvary Combat
The United States Cavalry Association, 1937. Cloth. Good +/No Jacket. 512 pages. End pages are maps of theatres of cavalry operations during World War I. Professionally repaired front and back hinges. Page 503 has 1/2" x 1" chip torn out. All pages are clean and tight in binding. No markings except for inital owner's name and rank written on title page. Was property of a West Point graduate, class of '32, for whom this was the main training book for his first major assignment. At the time this book was written, horse and mechanized cavalry were still being considered together, though the emphasis was on mechanized cavalry. 6.5" x 9.5". (more information)

Stapled-in lightweight blue cardstock covers. Issued to all those concerned with a NATO Command training tour (it may not have been called NATO at that time). The name "Colonel Cole" is pencilled in on the cover. Inked-in notes on one or two pages and the back cover. 52 pages with bound-in, folded map. 6.5" x 8.25". (more information)
