Boston and London: Hale, Cushman & Flint; The Medici Society, 1929. Original green cloth with very slight edgewear and bright gilt titles on the two spines. Vol one is a limited edition, number 42 of 500, signed by Thorpe and with Boston publisher listed first on the title page. Vol two has the London publisher first, and has no evidence of it being limited. Both were printed in the UK, and both have identical green cloth bindings and are the same size. Pages xvi, 372 and xii, plates CLXVIII (168) in black and white, full page photos. Both clean and tight with slight browning only on the free endpapers, and no foxing. A reduced price because the two volumes are not quite a matched pair, but it is a definitive and thorough study of this subject. . First Edition. Cloth. Very Good. Illus. by 168 Plates in Volume 2, Color Frontispiece and Small Woodcuts in Vol One. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. more information
