Rear cover very lightly soiled, and bumped at corner and top edge. Family history, both founders born in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway. Knute emigrated in 1891 and homesteaded northeast of Souris, ND. Full of narrative history, reminiscences, genealogical charts, facsimile documents and maps, and photos. The photos are fairly well-printed as photocopies go.. Top corners bumped, boards browned at edges, wear to corners & spine ends, top edge dusty, owner's name on front paste-down. DJ paper browned, closed tears up to 2 cm, rubbed and chipped at extremities, top edge of rear panel tattered, with a small blob of mysterious unremovable substance near Mr. Sevareid's left eye; in Brodart archival cover. Sevareid's memoirs, chiefly of his time as a war correspondent during WWII, but briefly dealing with childhood and beginnings as a journalist. DJ has photo of Sevareid in his mid-30s..
