Light wear to covers, tightly bound, occasional handwritten notes regarding births, deaths and funerals added in the margins. This book is signed by the author Roy E. Neufeldt (1918-1983) underneath his frontispiece photo. "This book was written primarily to identify the descendants of my Great-Grandfather, Johann Neufeldt, who was born in Neukirch, a village in the Molotschna Colonies of South Russia, in 1824. He married Katharina Penner in 1848 and they came to America in 1876 and settled in Jackson County, Minnesota. This book also includes some information about the Flaming and Olfert families. These are the family names of the wives of Isaac and Peter Neufeldt. The Flamings, Olferts and the Neufeldts came from the same area in Russia and settled in the same area in Minnesota at about the same time." - "Some of you spell your name Neufeld instead of Neufeldt. I have used Neufeldt in all cases to avoid confusion with the Neufeld who married into the family." The information in this book is based on more than 3 years of research. The author corresponded with members of this family and read hundreds of micro-film copies of census reports, passenger lists, old church records, old books, old newspapers and Government documents.
