References Geological Maps Nos. 17, 18 and 19. Engraved by J.W. Lowry. Scale 6 inches to 1 mile. Includes index of colours. Hand coloured, dissected into sections and mounted on linen. Folded inside green boards with gilt lettering. Corners and top/bottom of spine very slightly rubbed and bumped. Boards tie together with two green cloth ribbons. As the boards are opened, there is a section of decorative paper to the rear of the linen, as issued - and on this is written "Dorset" in ink. On the rear of the linen there is a very feint stamp. No other markings at all. The sheet itself is in very nice condition and overall this scarce item is in Very Good+ condition.
