KENT, ROCKWELL

SALAMINA Rockwell Kent's Greenland Book
New York: Harcourt Brace and CO., 1935. Second Printing A Fine Copy in a Fine DG. Octavo (6.5 x 9 inches). Blue cloth with silver lettering to the spine. The dust jacket art in sepia and black on cream stock is a Greenland Falcon in profile with the words; Rockwell Kent's Greenland Book Salamina. This is actually the second printing of Salamina, with the revised dust jacket issued by the publisher approximately six months after the first issue was relased. Additions to this printing, beyond the new cover art for the dust jacket, which replaced the previous portrait of a nude Salamina, initially deemed too risque for the audience, includes an acknowledgment at the end on the introduction added by Kent, (Arizona August 1935). The addition states his reentry of previously obmitted grammar and punctuation errors from the initial proofs to the first edition. An example of Kent forever editing his work- even after intial publication and obvious appeal. more information
