This well-illustrated pamphlet presents a brief history of the beautiful and imposing Bibi Khanum Mosque located in Samarqand, Uzbekistan. Although now partly in ruins, the mosque was built by Timur (Tamerlane) circa 1399-1400 to commemorate his defeat of the Sultanate of Delhi in 1399. Popular tradition also ascribes the construction of the monument to a wife of Timur, Bibi Khanum. There are two plates of miniature paintings and several color photographs with views of the ruined monument under restoration. Mild sunning along very edge of spine, with very light overall rubbing..
