A nice collection of 22 traditional folk and fairy tales from Scandanavia, Germany, Russia and Hungary illustrated with twelve black and white glossy plates. Published by Harper & Brothers, 1924 printing. Hardback - black cloth with title picture paste-on. 260 pages. CONDITION: Reading copy only. Pages and plates are all intact and basically clean and bright. There is age spotting and foxing to about 1/3 of the pages. For the most part this affects the margins areas only. Several plates have aging to margin areas as well. No writing, a few corner creases and a couple small edge tears. Some age spotting to book edges. Cover is basically clean with some wear. Picture paste-on has some aging, rubbing, chipping and starting to lift a little on bottom. Spine lettering is faded. Edges have some wear with wear-through to corners. There is a 1" area of damage to the cloth near bottom of spine, probably caused by animal chewing. Front hinge is lightly cracked inside but pages are secure. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. more information
