Description:
Paris: Librairie Marpon & Flammarion, 1895. First Edition Thus. Quarter Calf. Japanese paper pastedown. Leather title label. . Near Fine. Limited deluxe edition, one of 190, although this copy is not actually numbered. Oblong, 24 by 33 cm. 18 numbered leaves in each of the two parts, and a total of 28 fables rendered. The leaves are of Tori-noko papier japonais and are folded over in the Japanese-style. While the source of the tales and the publisher are French, the book is a fine expression of Japonisme that swept the Western World in the late 19th century and is very much in the style of a Kobunsha or Hasegawa publication of the same period. Light wear to binding.

Paris: Henri Laurens, Librairie Renouard, 1932. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Morin, Henry. 4to. 199 pp. With mix of color and black and white illustrations. 12 nearly full page color illustrations. Color has a light almost pastel like palette, and illustrations by Morin have a winsome fusion of simplicity with pretty detail; or with great economy, he is able to transport us to another time, place and reality. Here are the best known tales of La Fontaine. Some wear to blue decorated cloth, with a few frayed threads along borders and cloth worn through in lower corners. Rubbing along gutter. Color blindstamped animals still bright. Inside pages are toned yet clean. A very good copy.

Description:
London: Vol. 1: J. Tonson and J. Watts. Vol. 2: J. and P. Knapton. , 1727, 1738. First Editions. Full Calf. Slipcase: Quarter Morocco. Two chemises: cloth. . Very Good. 4to. 26 by 20 cm. [14], 173, [9], 155 pp. Armorial bookplates of Bradby-Hall. Both volumes with considerable wear to calf binding, with some scratches, rubbing of joints, etc. Vol. 1 with some rippling of leaves, and scattered soiling, but never in our view disconcerting or problematic. Vol. 2 blank leaves in front and back chewed along edges. Also rippling and minor soil -- overall, other than blanks, a fresher looking volume than the first. Chemises with ribbon pulls. No issues with chemises. Slipcase has a few minor gouges on morocco, but overall solid, slipcase, and one with an attractive shelf presence. Gilt dating on the slipcase gives the date of the first volume erroneously as 1737, when in fact it was 1727.

Farmingdale, NY: Fairchild Airplane Manufacturing Corporation, 1929. Wraps. Brochure. Near Fine. 23 by 20 cm. Unpaginated, 16 pp., including wraps. Large photos on 12 pages of Fairchild's three models of the day, including both exterior and interiors. Boasting of speeds of up to 130 miles per hour, and offering planes with some minimal creature comforts but two shorts years after Lindbergh's historic flight -- passengers are wearing fashionable street clothes on the comparatively plush seats. Fairchild was founded in 1924 and produced a good number of innovations during its history, including, as shown here, a fully enclosed cockpit. The assets of the company were sold in 2003 to M7 Alliance. Needless to say, a scarce sales promotion with no copies located on OCLC. Folded down the center at one time, with a light crease remaining. Otherwise, clean and fresh.
