  • Book condition: Paper Cover Large Format
  • Quantity available: 1
The Title is: Scraps of Paper: German Proclamation in Belgium & France. Published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1916. The collection of posters were accurately reproduced in this 37 page work. Retains front cover and back cover with some paper loss to the back cover and along the edges are minor tears and all along the spine is a loss of paper. Interior however, is bright and clean and the graphics are stunning, crisp and fresh. Ian Malcolm and M.P. in Parliament had this publication put together. In it are the real copies with full color matching reproduction and the corresponding English Translation of what the Poster Says: Several of the Posters call out the Execution of Belgium and French citizens for crimes against the German military with their names and occupations posted as well and date of execution by firing squad. A very nice piece and very hard to find. There are 17 proclamations and the piece measures 15" by 11". This publication was put together and might we also say, from fliers that were colle ... The publication also has an interesting dedication "To Mr. and Mrs. Emerson with much affection from the Chamberlains, et bon voyage". Signed also by the author du Baron Andre de Maricourt and the artist. A very rare work. World Catalog of Libraries only finds one copy as shown below: Senlis: du baron André de Maricourt. This brief note on Morton and Bliss Stationary and signed by Levi P. Morton with references to William M. Clark, the Secretary State for the State of Colorado, and Mr. Lafe Pence as well as Perry Belmont and J. W. Hinckeley were all probably involved in the Walker Company, a private company floated by Belmont and Hinckeley and others. Morton and Company. In the 1870s the firm, by then known as Morton, Bliss and Co., helped refinance the national debt Morton moved into politics and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1878.
