Original gilt titled buckram, decorative parchment d.w. with a small chip, foot of spine darkened otherwise very good.

(vi), 734 pp. Contemporary black buckram, gilt lettered red spine label, early owner's inscription in red ink to the front free endpaper "Brought from Paris when unobtainable in England" followed by their name and town of residence. Fairly uniform browning throughout as is customary with these early printings, rubbing to the covers, else very good. Slocum & Cahoon, p. 25. Published September 1924.

Small 8vo. 113, (3) pp. Publisher's plain linen backed drab boards, printed title label to the upper cover. Frontispiece, first page and the press device to the rear designed by Lucien Pissaro. Some spotting to the blank leaves to the front and rear, a little also to the covers, an attractive copy.

Original orange cloth, spine and top edge slightly dull. McIlvaine A61b-2. Reissued with a different colour binding and different advertisements. Originally published a week earlier in the US.

Some light wear to the bindings, generally very good. The maps used in this publication essentially correspond with those illustrating John Tallis' "Illustrated Atlas" of 1851.

Profusely illustrated, occasionally in colour. Jacket worn with losses principally to the head and centre of the spine, slight foxing to the endpapers and edges, otherwise very good. The artist's study of "likely and unlikely" places, ostensibly English, such as fairgrounds, seaside resorts and festivals. The book also includes chapters on subjects as diverse as tattoos and automata.

New Delhi: DAG Pvt. Ltd., 2018.. First edition. Oblong 8vo. (ii), 49, (1) pp. Publisher's illustrated cloth. Illustrated. An excellent copy. Francis Newton Souza (1924-2002), a native of Goa, was educated in Bombay before moving to London in the late 1940s.
