Bodega Bay is just north of San Francisco, and named for Spanish explorer Don Juan Francisco de la Bodega. The chart is dated 1864, but is from the 1866 report of the superintendent of the US Coast Survey, then Alexander Dallas Bache, the great grandson of Benjamin Franklin.
