Description:
New York: Mystery House, 1943. First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good+. First American edition. 256 pp. Publisher's red cloth lettered in black. Near Fine with foxing and dust-soiling to edges, contents clean and bright, in the rare pictorial dust jacket, foxed and dust-soiled with a small pencil checkmark on the spine-- hardly any shelf wear and no fading to colors, though. Titles from this publisher are scarce in collectible condition. British mystery writer Edith Rivett wrote a number of golden age crime classics under the male E.C.R. Lorac pseudonym.

London: Published for the Crime Club by Collins, 1943., 1943. First edition. Publisher's red cloth with titles in black to spine, in original pictorial dustwrapper. Some dustiness to top edge, discreet name stamped to pastedown (hidden beneath flap). Jacket a trifle toned and wrinkled but essentially fine, considering this is a cheaply produced wartime book.
