Summary
An exploration of the role of the saguaro cactus in the ecology of the desert. The cactus, which can grow to be 50 feet high, serves as a nest to the Gila woodpecker, and owl. Its flowers provide nectar for such desert creatures as the long nosed bat, white-winged doves, and butterflies.
