A small amount of the color is worn from the tips of the fore corners and the top/bottom of the spine, but nowhere is the cloth worn through to the boards. Otherwise very minor wear on the clean, sound binding. Two small defects on front endpapers (removed labels? ) . Contents are clean and unmarked. DJ is not much to look at, but it provides plenty of protection and information. ; Black cloth, bright gold lettering in maroon spine panels. BIOGRAPHY. Gielgud gave Ronald Hayman access to his letters and scrapbooks and personal papers, material that had never been published. And he gave of his time. Gielgud spent hours with Hayman, and Sir John has checked every detail of this book himself. Many actors and directors who have worked with Sir John have also been interviewed and their comments and memories are woven into this biography. Index.
