Franklin only has half the money he needs to buy the Super-Duper Spy Kit of his dreams. His father makes a deal: he will give Franklin the rest of the money he needs if Franklin will paint the fence. Franklin agrees, but soon finds painting to be hard work. So he enlists Beaver and Fox to help by making a deal with them. That deal leads to another, and another until finally the fences is painted and Franklin's father pays him. In the end, Franklin finds he has enough money for two spy kits – one for himself and one for his best friend, Bear.
