Summary
Dr. Kay Scarpetta returns to her old office in the 13th thriller to star the fan-favorite medical examiner. Five years ago, Scarpetta was fired from her position as Chief Medical Examiner of Richmond, Virginia. Currently based in Florida, she travels back to Richmond when her not-terribly-effective replacement, Dr. Joel Marcus, asks her to assist him in understanding why a teenage girl has apparently died of flu.
