Summary
A picture-book version of a Bantu folk tale from Rwanda. Sebgugugu is a poor man who lives in a small hut with his wife and two children. All Sebgugugu has is one cow, so he begs Imana, the Lord of Rwanda, to help him and his family. Moved by Sebgugugu's pleas, Imana provides the family with an abundance of food. But that is not enough for Sebgugugu, who continues to beg Imana for more and more until he finally wears out Imana's patience, and is punished for his greediness. Illustrated with colorful cut-paper collages.
