Rethinking Camelot, JFK, the Vietnam war, and U.S. political culture
Chomsky, Noam
Boston: South End Press. 1993. 172p., first edition trade wraps, top edge has a small sprinkle of foxing. Chomsky's position in brief is that "the internal record reveals only JFK's advocacy of withdrawal AFTER victory is secure," and he plainly assumes that conspiracy theory constructions about the assassination were generated by the notion that JFK was winding down the war. Rethinking Camelot is a good short summary of the Vietnam war whether or not one shares his assumption (this cataloguer's feeling is that the Chomper suffers from a deficiency of true-crime prurience). Find a bonus info byte page 99, Chomsky has a Deep Throat in Washington; the passage reads, "One close associate of Johnson's, who sat in on the highest-level planning meetings in those years and was also briefed regularly by field-grade officers and CIA personnel, informed me privately" dot dot dot ( more information) Offered by Bolerium Books, ABAA/ILAB (United States)
