About the author

Julius O. Adekunle is a professor of African history at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. He is the author of Culture and Customs of Rwanda (2007) and the editor of Religion in Politics: Secularism and National Integration in Modern Nigeria (2009). Hettie V. Williams teaches United States history, world history, western civilization, and upper division courses on the history of African Americans at Monmouth University. She is the author of We Shall Overcome to We Shall Overrun: The Collapse of the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Revolt (1962-1968) (University Press of America, 2008).
